"Surviving Parenthood" Conference Saturday, April 10th, 2010 in Knoxville, Tennessee 9:00 to 5:00 Join Brian Byars and Alan Melton to examine the way Jesus made disciples and how parents can do the same. Brian will be sharing practical ways of how young parents can make disciples of their children from the time they are born. In addition to the main sessions, breakout sessions will be offered by First Baptist Concord on a wide range of topics, including Spiritually Shepherding Babies & Toddlers, Families in Crisis, Protecting Your Marriage, Adoption, Shaping Your Child's Sexuality, Single Parenting, and other age specific topics. Sample Workshop Schedule- Full Day or Friday Eve, Sat Morn In this comprehensive workshop, attendees will learn about simple, practical ways that they can make disciples of their own children. We will explore in depth the practices of Jesus, how to shepherd your family, how to maximize time with your family, how to teach your family, how to involve your family in ministry, and how to protect your family from wolves. Our facilitators will lead attendees to develop a written plan with a self assessment, ten year goals and an action plan on making disciples of their family. Morning 8:30 AM – Registration

Sample Workshop Schedule- 1/2 Day Schedule In this abbreviated workshop, attendees will learn about simple practical ways that they can make disciples of their own children. Our facilitators will lead attendees to develop a written plan with a self assessment, ten year goals and an action plan on making disciples of their family. This workshop can also be taught over three to four Sundays during Sunday school time, or by request, the entire workshop can be taught during a Sunday morning, beginning at 8:00am and finishing in time for worship. 45 minutes- Introduction: How Jesus Made Disciples 45 minutes- Practical Tips on Teaching Younger and Older Children 45 minutes- Self Assessment and Written Action Plan for Discipling Your Family
